No, why would making sure that an paper is an original be a "snitch site"

Not a snitch site, but it DOES have a problem.

When you turn in a paper to turnitin.com, IT BECOMES THEIR PROPERTY and becomes part of their database.

YOu are PAYING them to give them info that extends their database. Shouldn't THEY be paying YOU?

I used it for my students when I was a student teacher, and think it is a great tool. Although, there are words and phrases that would come up as being plagiarized just because they are used so much, such as sayings or quotations. You have be careful when using it, but it is a good investment.
