If you are fluent in reading Spanish you can probably pick up Italian fairly easily. I would suggest subscribing to a magazine in Italian. Amazon sells subscriptions to several, including a couple for first and second-level students. You should be able to recognize the major nouns and verbs, and see if you can figure out the rest of the sentence from there.

You can try using a computer language-learning program. If you're in school, ask about Italian class or a club that lets you learn.
