Congratulations for wanting to go into the world of teaching! I am currently a senior early childhood major in the state of Ohio. During my 4 years in college, the only test I have been required to take was the Praxis II tests which when passed, you will receive your teaching lisence. In Ohio, we do not have to take the Praxis I. As far as having to take the GMATS in order to get into your Master's Program, yes you will need to do that. What did you get your BA? Just as an idea, maybe you should consider getting another bachlor's degree and get it in education. You are going to need to research the school you are going to and the state you live in to see what steps you will need to take if you are wanting to get your master's in education!
Good luck!

The GMAT is for admission to business school. Many graduate schools in education may require the GRE.
Some programs that finance your education in such a program may require you to take the Praxis I before you are admitted to the program. Those exams test your basic knowledge of English and math.
You would only take the ones dealing with educational theory and practice--Praxi IIs exams--after your coursework. In some places that are desparate for teachers, there are still some teachers in the system that have been teaching for a couple of years but have not finished taking those exams. That has serious consequences for them, though. They're always worrying about losing their jobs, and it puts them a year or two behind in tenure or pay raises. No Child Left Behind is taking away the options for those teachers.
The Praxis exams are expensive, and it can be difficult to make the minimum cut on each one if you are taking them all at once. I signed up for one that didn't even help me get certified--very annoying! That's why you need to do your homework. Find out exactly which ones are required for each district you might want to teach in. Take the ones that are required in all of them first.
You may want to set up a schedule and a budget for taking the exams at regular intervals. You may also want to form a study group early on to share the experience, as well as the expense of study guides. If your egos can take it, you might all take a sample question, take it home, write an essay, bring it back, compare the essays, grade them according to the criteria in the book, and rank them from best to worst. You would learn a lot by that process.

You will have to take the GMAT or GRE to enter into the Master's program. In your last semester before you can become certified you will need to take the Praxis 2 exam. The Praxis 1 is mainly used to enter into the Bachelor's program. Also you didn't say what state you lived in but some states are changing the Praxis to another test. In Georgia, after this summer, we will be requried to take the GACE. Good luck on your test(s)!

It depends on th school and the state you live in. Alabama and Illinois don't require Praxis I. The graduate school may ask you to take the GRE or Miller's Analogy. The state will ask you to take certain tests for your certification. Get admitted to the graduate school first, then they will tell you what you need for certification.
