We know that many universities in non-English-speaking countries employ native speakers to be spoken English teachers. But many of them(native speakers) whose occupation was not a teacher before they teach in those universities.

And I wonder what those native speakers' status usually is in their own country.

I WORK WITH CHILDREN FROM LOWER INCOME FAMILIES (I SHARE THIS IN COMMON WITH THEM, I WAS RAISED IN THIS SETTING) AND I FEEL LIKE THEY ALL CAN GO ON TO DO GREAT THINGS BUT MY CO-WORKERS THINK I EXPECT TOO MUCH. I DON'T THINK YOUR SITUATION AT THE TIME SHOULD POSTPONE YOUR FUTURE. AM I WRONG?????

I am a high school student with 10 years of playing piano under my belt. Although I don't really have any previous experience teaching a child how to play, I'd like to get some advice on how much I should charge. The child is 7 years old, and the lessons will probably be around 45 min. to an hour, something around that timeframe. Anyway, any advice is appreciated!

I'm trying to get an idea of how to get into teaching college without the obvious Ph.D. I plan on going for Ph.D., but not at this time. I'm wondering if I should just start by teaching children and then move on to college when I go back to Ph.D?
