I hated school. Both regular as well as college level. Why? Easy. I was not diagnosed with an actual learning problem until I was in my mid thirties. I always knew that I had a problem. What took most people an hour to do homework would take me two, three sometimes four hours to get it done. Memorization.... are you kidding. Ask me what happened a year ago, no problem, ask me to regurgitate on demand, not going to happen. What was later found was that I don't process information in a short term hear it read it fashion. I learn three times as fast with a lets discuss it do it together, let me explain it once again to you fashion. My college GPA was a 2.57. My IQ is a 149. My skills for resolving three dimensional problems phenomenal. My skills for solving an algebra problem, non existent. Can't pass an algebra class at any level with maximum help. So the end result for this question is.... For some people hating school is because we never fit in the little boxes of expectations in those class rooms. For some it is the constant feeling of being an outcast socially, and for others it's the control or lack of control they have in their life and school is the easiest to hate. The more socially acceptable thing to despise. I hope this helps.

Some student's don't like school because they do not see how it is going to help them later on in life. Especially if their parent's didn't go - or did poorly and if the parent ended up fine - why shouldn't they?

Also, people don't like being told what to do.

Then there is the social reason - some kids/people are made fun of so much at school that they can't bring themselves to go anymore.

That's the point they have to go and its put in their faces everyday. Although i am one of the few that still like school i know a lot of people who don't and they say its the simple fact that every time it gets hard they have no option to keep going later on in life they realize it was the best thing for them but people just don't like doing things they have to do.

It wasn't the learning and doing school work that I didn't like. The school I went to was a hell-hole. That's why I didn't like it.

uhh.. maybe people hate school BECAUSE they have to go?

Alot of people dislike being MADE to do things.

I didn't particularly like high school, but I love college because its my own choice to go or not go.
