I'm a freshman and my parents are making me switch schools next year. I'm not a big fan of the school I'm going. I don't have any "best" friends at my school. It's not really challenging either. But I'm on the basketball team and I really like my team and coach and i could play varsity for a winning team next year. So I'm kind of stuck. A guy I'm friends with and kind of like is switching to the school my parents want me to go to. What should I do?

I was curious, if I miss the majority of the quantitative questions on the PCAT but do well on the rest of the test, would I still be able to get into a pharmacy school. I honestly don't care what school I go to as long as they have teachers and classrooms.

If I decided to go to medical school, I know I would have to take a lot of math and science, but how difficult is it? I work very hard in school and I could get through it, but right now in school I don't really like math, but I enjoy biology a lot. Once again, I'm good at writing, but I tend to talk myself out of things because I'm afraid I will fail. So can I be successful as a premed student and not be a genius in math and science?

She no doubtly has the intelligence to do the work and pass, but she herself will come out and tell you that she's lazy!! I have tried everything to motivate her from grounding her, bribing her, talking with teachers, signing her homework, etc. I'm seriously at the point of not knowing what else to do and I'm afraid that if this keeps up, she'll eventually drop out of school. In most of her classes, she does ok, but could do better. What raises a red flag for me is that in one of her strongest subjects, Social Studies, the teacher seems to have it out for my daughter and she now has a 17% average in her class. I have tried to meet with the teacher, the guidance counselor, the principal, and still haven't got anywhere!! What should I do?

i might miss 1 or 2 credits this year & i am in grade 9. It's not cuz i skipped school or anything, i missed school because of a medical issue and i am going to get 2 credits this semester instead of 4. I am planning on going to university and was wondering whats going to happen with that, will i still be able to get into college after going to summer school in high school? Everybody (teachers, family & friends) is telling me this will be like it never happen in a couple years but im still worried.

I think its pretty obvious that this is my situation. My friend and I catch him staring/looking across class or from far away, yet at as he comes closer, he acts like im invisible. And he sometimes talks about me/teases me to OTHER people in class, yet he's never said 1 word to me. Any insight into this conundrum would help a lot. =]

I am in the nursing program. I do not know if nursing school is for me. It requires extensive physical activity and involves a lot of empathy. I have never really been a very caring person, and I really went into nursing strictly because of the money. Is there any hope for me? Any fields in nursing for nurses like me?

Please try to be nice and honest in your response. Thanks.

My high school hardly has any hot girls, so im thinking of tranferring to another school. Im so bored everyday without any good looking girls to socialize with. Im 16 and still got 2 years of school left. I guess my school is ok but its too small and boring.
Should I transfer to another school with plenty of hot girls?

can a teacher touch any part of a pupil's body deliberately without a really good excuse? for example: a teacher touch a pupil's hair to just check how many gel did he put on, but the kid doesn't like it. Can he go and complain?

Hey. I was selected to be on a committee to help name a new high school being built in my area. Could you please pitch me some names, colors, and mascots? I live in Florida so something unique to Florida would be great. Thank You!

hi.. i was given an after school detention tonight for 2 hours where i had to write lines. ' I must follow the school code of conduct at all times' Im in year 10 and from the UK and our detentions at school are from 3.30 til 5.30.

not only are writing pages of lines boring, but your hand and fingers are sore from holding the pen! My biro ran out of ink so i had to borrow a pen of the school cleaner (he emptied the bins and tidy the room up etc..) which made my fingers numb coz it was another biro, i dunno if a different pen will help?

At 5.30 i handed my lines to the teacher and returned the pen to the cleaner!

I have the same detention next week, so any ideas?

what are your detentions like?
xx

I heard this today. Apparently teachers are so afraid of being sued, they cannot even hold toddlers who cry after a fall, or pat a student on the back for doing well at school.

Is it really so bad in American schools?
