I have twins who want to raise money (individually only because the school is not holding a fundraiser, parents have to organize their own) to go on a trip in the spring. My husband is self-employed and I do not want any negative implications involving donations and reporting to the i.r.s. We would like to hold a raffle and ask for prizes and dontations. I know that these businesses would want to "write off" contributions. How does this work without getting complicated? I would prefer to not go through a commercial fundraising such as candybars, giftwrap, etc. Thanks for any input.

If I get something wrong on a school assignment or worse, I get really frustrated at myself for not getting perfect. I think that my chance of success will diminish, is that a bad thing? I mean it DOES pushes me to do better from finding what I did wrong...

The assistant principal of my school is incharge of enforcing the dress code. She doesn't like me. Yesterday I wore a skirt. She pulls me to the side of the hall and asks me to put my hands down (i.e. the fingertip check.) The rule is skirts must come to the tips of your fingers. So I put my hands down and their is at least 3 inches left of skirt. She said put them down further, i did. 1 1/2 inches left. "Put them down further." I reach to the bottum of my skirt. "clearly this is just making it. don't wear it again."

Even if it had just come to my fingertips, that's the rule. Are they really allowed to say the rule doesn't count? Later the same day I saw another girl who's skirt was about 5 inches shorter than mine. This girl was not caught because her dad is a lawyer. I'm a straight A student and total prep. She also yelled at me many times last year. Does she have a reason to pick on me? I don't understand.
