Usually they join because it gives them a sense of belonging. Many students who join gangs have little or no family structure at home.
I have a number of students who are identified as gang members and are generally as nice as can be in class. They aren't necessarily bad people--they just want to fit in.
That being said, some of the initiation rites and later actions of gang members are reprehensible.

Because they can get a sense of security. They can be protected from other gangs. They feel accepted by someone, even if these people are bad. In some cases they are bullied into it.

probabyly because they lack of family friends attentions they feel secured when they join into the gangs! they feel as though there is somebody who cares about them in this world! another reason could be that they're too stressed out and have this mentality thta by joining the gang , it cud help ease the burden and pressure....
