I teach Pre-kindergarten and have 4 students whose mothers baby them... to the extreme. Their shortcomings are: the inability to drink from a cup (only use sippies at home), inability to use a fork or spoon (mommy feeds them in the mouth still), boys who don't pee standing up and one in diapers still, baby babbling instead of speaking clear words. So my question is, how can I tactfully tell these parents that their children are behind and need to become more independent? I'm not a parent yet and would like to hear some tactful ways to break it to them, better yet if you can do it in spanish.

My wife will start working again next year, and we plan to have our boy start in pre-school. Some of the places we have talked to don't do any instructioin at all - and I was hoping they would at least cover numbers and letters. Should I just let the boy play, or should I keep looking to get a little more academically?

HI. I WAS JUST THINKING i have one activity (wish list) of which i could do with the children using the STAR LIGHT,STAR BRIGHT poem. But was thinking of doing something with photographs of the children as a present to them. Either an individual picture as it could be used by parents as well. Any ideas?

Last time I asked about this I put the incorrect title, the books have been muddled up and I would like to know the order in which the letter's, circular's, postcards appear in the book, someone called Digger gave an excellent answer but due to my error it was for the wrong Jolly Postman book.

A lot of people answered the 1st time I asked this and I think I need to clarify some things. My son's dad doesn't need my permission to date someone, but I would expect he would get my permission before he dated a woman we have a mutual relationship with......our son's teacher. Also, I actually like the woman. She's very sweet and smart and my son likes her a lot, but this is his teacher. What if they break up? Will she take this out on our son? Is it appropriate that when he spends the night while he's visiting Daddy, he wakes up (because he always wakes up very very very early) and sees the teacher half dressed? My son's father has had other girlfriends in the past and it doesn't bother me at all......but the teacher thing is KILLING ME!

I provide breakfast, lunch and 2 snacks. We have a mini-classroom within the home. We do activities everyday and have special snacks and parties. I used to be a Reading Recovery teacher for my local school district. I'm open bet. 10 -10 1/2 hours /day. How much should I charge for a daily rate? I live in Missouri. My max. would be 6 kids at once.

I have a 3 year old, and we have done all the basics, numbers, letters, colors and shapes, but now I have to teach him to read, and really dont know where to start. I am also Christain so if you know a curriculm that incorporates biblical teaching that would be great.
