I need games and activities that require supplies that I can find around the house or purchase. I'll be working as a nanny and must keep the kids engaged and active.

I am a speech therapist and I work with kids around those same ages. Don't brake the ice, cootie, candy land, chutes and ladders, memory, eye spy, and go fish are some favorites with the kids I work with. Also as far as active inside games they love throwing a ball, i have a plastic bowling set. We also play "search party" where we turn off the lights and look for items with a flashlight. Any arts and craft type games are good and they always like to color.

most kids like to sing and dance if you know educational songs that will be fun to sing and act out for the kids that would keep them preoccupied for a while and you can do this inside or outside they have educational puzzles and games at wal-mart those would be entertaining and learning at the same time.

You can try the game "I Spy" I spy something around the house and the kids have to figure out what you are looking at.

Example: if you are looking at a red apple.

I Spy something red and round.

Hope this will work for you.

You say to the children I see I see
they reply what do you see
and then you say maybe a little butterfly falling to the ground so peacefully- then they reenact it

or i see i see
children say- hat do you see

a race car breaking downon the race track........

or the SO DO I game

make a circle- 1 child stand in the middle and says(EXAMPLE)
I have a Brother- If the children agree they reply by steping in the circle and repeat SO DO I......

SOME OF MY CHILDREN'S FAVORITES WERE ARTS AND CRAFTS,USING PLAY-DOH,GLUING POP CYCLE STICKS TOGETHER TO MAKE ORNAMENTS...PICTURE FRAMES FOR MOMMY AND DADDY,ETC, AND FOR OUTSIDE TIME GAMES LIKE FIND THE PRETTIEST LEAVES OR THE COOLEST ROCK,OR USE WASHABLE SIDEWALK CHALK TO MAKE HOPSCOTCH OR DRAW ON CONCRETE. AND OUTSIDE STORY TIME IS A PLUS(LESS TO CLEAN) HIDE AND SEEK IS SO FUN WITH 6 YR OLDS...THEY CANT HIDE TOO LONG OR TOO WELL SO YOUR NOT EXHAUSTED, AND FIX BABY DOLLS HAIR...BOYS AND GIRLS LOVE IT. YOU CAN GET INEXPENSIVE CRAYONS,GLUE , CRAFT SUPPLIES AT WAL-MART OR DOLLAR GENERAL AND THE OUTSIDE GAMES CAN BE BROUGHT INSIDE FOR CRAFT TIME. IE, GLUE THE PRETTY LEAVES ON A PAPER FOR MOMMY( BIG BONUS...MOMS LOVE THE STUFF KIDDIES MAKES AND THEY FEEL GOOD ABOUT THE FACT THAT THEIR CHILD'S MIND IS BEING USED ON MORE THAN BARNEY AND BOB THE BUILDER. GOOD LUCK.

you will desire to purchase some lego with random products (no longer those the place they permit you already know what to make) yet make certain the products arent too small because it would desire to be risky. Then the toddlers can get creative because of the fact they are able to make something they desire!
