I am a teacher assistant for a two year old group in a daycare and I am really battling with getting the children to listen to me and I am not getting much support from the place I am working from the staff, just a lot of criticism. What can I do to try to get the class flowing and a bit more organized? Any tips?

We don't have time to request the children bring a picture of themselves in- so nothing like that.

Children begin playing with dolls at a young age..as toddlers. Today the parenting classes are limited to the parents who are all ready facing crimes for abuse and/or neglect charges to their children.
Nurses, as well as educated professionals will be the teachers; the method is by playing with the dolls as toddlers on up to college students on a much more professional level.
Please let me know what you think, and thank you for you opinion and thoughts on the matter.

Can someone give me ideas on what to get him for christmas. He is very smart for his age. He has all the video systems except the models for this year and he beats everyone playing them. He has a new dell and alot of toys. I'm just trying to think of something different for this year. I love this boy dearly and he knows it and he is polite and gets good grades and he is NOT a brat. When we go to the store he doesn't even ask for things and I know it's hard at his age. He is such a good boy and he deserves a good christmas. Anyone have any ideas??????

Would you dress your preschooler (only going to be at school for 3.5 hours) in a snowsuit or snowpants?

The weather here in Michigan is warm and wet, there isn't even a patch of snow on the ground. My son was out at recess (why she didn't have an indoor recess must've escaped her) and slipped into a huge puddle. She blames me by not sending him in snowpants! First, I found no call for snowpants today. Second, why did she not let him change into his emergency clothes? I am pretty preturbed about it, and would like to see some comments from other preschool moms.

By the way, it's 48 degrees now, our high today is 52!

the 1 having this small line on the right instead of left
the 2 was also mirror image, the 3 and 4 as well.. then the rest was right
but then, the 11 and 12 were both, mirrored AND the numbers in 12 were reversed, i.e. "21" AND mirrored!!
when i told his mother she didn't seem to make a fuss about it, and told me "it'll come by time"
a friend now is telling me that this might be an illness and the mother should take that into consideration

any experience abt such a matter?

Hi everyone,

I am looking for a book for my niece for Christmas that my sister (my niece's mom) used to have around 2-3 years old. I can't remember much about it except that there was a little girl who was a hedgehog, bear, or some type of animal and there was a page with a baked potato that the little girl described as "fluffy on the inside, crunchy on the outside. Yum yum, all gone." In fact, the yum yum line might have been used on other pages (sorry, Ican't remember).

There were illustrations on each page and I'm guessing it was for children ages 1-3. I believe there was a mother (an animal) in it too. Sorry for the vague description I just remember my little sister could recite that baked potato line before she could even read. I think it would make a great gift.

Thanks,
Bob
