What is our role as an adult in promoting early mathematical skills in our preschool classroom??
in context of singapore prefered

as a math major currently in college, mathematics is essential everyday! It doesn't have to be mundane, but fun! Not everyone is cut out for higher math, but getting the basics is important for survival in adulthood.

I'm not sure specifically about singapore, but children are like sponges; anything you put in front of them will be learned easier than if you gave it to an adult. That's why more and more american schools are pushing to teach Spanish in kindergarten programs; the kids will grow up being semi-bilingual and make it easier to learn the language if they chose to later on.

Encouraging mathmatical prowess, I would assume, would enhance society because math and science would no longer be "scary" to people

Early math skills are counting, patterning, sorting, shapes, and building with blocks.
