hi im a junior in high school and i want to become a doctor, im currently taking community college courses what should i do?i will have a year of college done by the time i graduate high school if i continue to take courses. I was told than med schools prefer a four year university student than one who has transfered from a junior college. which path would most likely get me to med school?

1.apply to a UC like davis or UCR or UCI or UCLA? and get my bachelors, then apply to med school? i dont know if i will get accepted though with a combined soph/jun gpa of 3.7

2.go to a comunity college for 1 year and then transfer to a UC and get a bachelors then apply to med school

3.stop taking courses and go directly to UC and apply to a med school after i graduate

i was told that med schools look down on students who go to a junior college???? please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I completed 2 internships at a daycare center this semester, which I paid for, bought supplies out of my own pocket, and completed 140+ hours, which was more than required. My professor gave me a D and an F and I totally disagree. How should I approach her about it, and what other steps should I take? As a result she has made me lose my financial aide at school, and I will NOT be graduating in the Spring now.

I want to become a doctor when I am older, what kinds of books should I read now?
I am in the 11 grade and I do fairly well in school, (hardest classes and 3.6 GPA, activley involved in school and out of school activities, yet to take SAT or ACT though.) I like to read but do not consider myself an avid reader yet. Which books would help me to develop my vocabulary as well as increase my intelligence for when I enter into medical school and the medical profession itself.

Also, do you think that I stand a good chance of getting into Emory, Case or Vanderbilt?

I am aware that my high school perfomance only influences my undergrad career. What should you then suggest to help me in the very competitve area of medical school accpetance?

Do people really start medical school at age 22 or 23 years? I don't think I'd be able to start med school until I'm 24 or 25 and I feel this may be a little too old.

the question was "how has the media impacted your perception of the world?"
What I see and hear in the media today, impacts my perception of the world profoundly. For it is probably the only resource for myself, and many individuals, for knowing what is happening around the world. However, I believe that the media has a nasty habit of concentrating on negative aspects of the world, and focusing on the bad behavior of celebrities.

I have heard many different things and with college steadily nearing Im concerened what requirments I have to make. Lets say for example that you took all honors classes and you got 1 B in one of them. Would they rather have you take the easy class and get an A or do they highly intelligent students who take harder courses? In addition Ive heard that colleges are taking class rank less and less into consideration. How do the SAT's and ACT's play a role in this. Whats a typical GPA that is required for a good college? Also how many extra-cirruculars are required in order to get in.

Ok, I've always wanted to be a neurosurgeon and I love science...especcially anatomy and I get As (except AP Bio.)...

Then I have languages (I take French and Italian)...I love them but not as much as anatomy (science in general) but they come like naturally to me...I get an A+ in both (French I and Honors Italian III) without even studying...I barely even study for their exam's and I still get at least a 94.

So even though I truly want to become a neurosurgeon should I just become something that has o do with languages since they're so easy which will make my life easier...

And I'm just asking 'cuz I'm a Junior and I'm starting to look at colleges but I still didn't decide on what I want to be...

Thanks
