Ok, I've always wanted to be a neurosurgeon and I love science...especcially anatomy and I get As (except AP Bio.)...

Then I have languages (I take French and Italian)...I love them but not as much as anatomy (science in general) but they come like naturally to me...I get an A+ in both (French I and Honors Italian III) without even studying...I barely even study for their exam's and I still get at least a 94.

So even though I truly want to become a neurosurgeon should I just become something that has o do with languages since they're so easy which will make my life easier...

And I'm just asking 'cuz I'm a Junior and I'm starting to look at colleges but I still didn't decide on what I want to be...

Thanks

At this point, don't box yourself in! Continue to take languages, and also take science and math toward pre-med. You can choose in your sophmore year or so, or even continue for awhile longer. You do NOT need to be that specific when applying for colleges--your coursework for speak for itself.

Stick with your plans to be a neurosurgeon, but continue with the languages (maybe a minor in one of them and a few classes in another). The languages--French maybe more than Italian--may come in handy even as a neurosurgeon. You could do an internship abroad or spend a year working for Médecins sans frontières.

Moreover, medical translators are in fairly high demand. You'd have an edge by not only speaking the language but also having medical background. If your college offers a course in medical French or Italian, you might look into that, or if not, see what you can find out about getting certified to do medical translation (there's an exam; if there's no course, you'd just have to study medical vocabulary on your own). If nothing else it'd be a good, relevant part-time/summer job once your languages are strong enough.

Get the info you need. and talk to a few colleges. And see what language program they have. I am a 2nd year college student. And I finally have my passion for the career I want to get into.

Take the language courses as your minor!
