In Texas, a class at a community college might run about $400. Which is a huge savings compared to a four year college. If you plan on transferring at some point to a four-year school, then make sure you know if your classes will transfer. There is no point is savings thousands of dollars by attending a CC, if it turns out most of your classes won't transfer. You will have wasted time and money. Good luck!

I don't know about Az but in Mo a community college is half the price of a state university. Just make sure that all the classes you take will transfer to a four year university. When I started at a community college I worked with a counselor to arrange my classes so that they all transferred to the 4 year university where I was going to finish my bachelors degree. If you transfer with an associates degree all your hours should be transferable.

Well...in 05/06 Mesa Community College (just picked randomly) in Mesa, AZ...tuition was $5,554 for in-state and $6,202 for out-of state; room and board was $7,098 (for both in and out of state), books/supplies were about $1,024 (though could probably be less if you bought books online for cheap)...so for in-state (including the books fee) that would be about $13,767 and out of state would be about $14,324 for out of state.
Other community colleges should be about the same.
