They seem to be essentally the same thing to me... but obviously they are not. So, what are the differences?

What are the career options after college with either of these majors?

Specific answers please... will always pick a best answer!

Im heading back to college soon and getting ready to dorm shop. Last year I learned that half the stuff freshman buy is useless and overpriced and that the stuff retailers push as college gear is a joke. So I am humbly seeking the yahoo answers community for your ideas of great college and dorm gear. My best college buy is a thermos and a pair of rollerblades, every college student should have these. Thanks.

I don't want to look out of place. When I went to college, 13 years ago, everyone had a back-pack over one shoulder. I also want it to carry my laptop.

I actually have two questions. First of all, what are some colleges that do not have the Ivy League title but are just as good? My mom says that Northwestern in Evanston, Illinois is quite good but it is without the Ivy title soI was wondering what were some other very good schools besides Ivys. Also, I was wondering at my chances in getting accepted into an Ivy League school. I am entering my junior year with a 4.0 GPA with all advanced classes and quite a few AP courses. I have slacked off in the extracurricular department. I have 10 years of piano, ski club, a job as a babysitter and at a bookshop, a student mentor, and I am definitely going to get tons of volunteer hours this year. What are my chances? Thanks!

I got my Bachelor's Degree a few years back (NOT a science backgroud) and now decided I want to get certified as a Medical Assistant. Do they pay more if you have a Bachelor's Degree?? Also, does all this training help with getting into med school or a Physicians Assistant program? (I'd go straight into a P.A. program, but I don't have a science background, or the prereq classes)

I don't feel it necessary to add my degrees (JD/MBA) after my name, but I have seen other people in my field (finance) list their degrees in their signature.

Is it necessary?
When is it appropriate?
Should I list one degree or both?

Thanks.

I've gone on many job interviews and they never seem to check my references nor my college education. I know of 5 people who have paid for fake transcripts and have been using them for years to obtain jobs, yet they have never graduated from college. I wonder if maybe I just wasted my 40,000 paying for college when I could just paid $200 to get some fake transcripts.

I am thinking about trying to earn my doctorate in psychology, starting next year, and one option i have been looking at is doing it online. I am wondering, would earning an advanced degree online make the learning process far more independent than at an actual university? Is earning a masters or doctorate with real life classes still a very independent process?

Hi, I am a high school sophomore interested in my chances of making it into UC Berkeley when I graduate. It is a great school, and most of my family is from the bay area, so I'd like to move out there when I'm done with high school. With a 3.72 GPA, what kind of SAT scores would I need. I founded and lead a contemporary music group at my school, am the president of my grade, and run cross country.

Also, what schools are in the bay area that are good besides Berkeley.

My sister is looking to become either a radiologist or a nuclear medicine technologist. I've heard that health careers are decent-paying, but won't break the bank. They are more about helping people. I will be a junior in college, and I attend a four-year public school, but out-of-state. However, my major (chemical engineering) offers well-paying careers right upon graduation.

My question is: Should she go to a private, four-year college for this career? Will she be able to pay off her loans and not have financial issues?

I went off to college but had a miserable time. My miserable time was caused mostly by uncontrollable emotions but few people know this. My mother think it's cause by my ADD/ADHD and wants to send me here: http://www.berkshirecenter.org/index.html
The program is sooo wrong for me for sooo many reasons but no matter what I say including telling her the truth about the past year will change her mind. Helllp, my mom wants me out of her house and in some school (ish) program but this one that I've listed isn't it! How do I find the program that is right for me? Do you know of any like the one I mentioned that I could suggest to my mom? Hellllp!

I just need to know if the classes I took all my 2 years (and now my curent 3rd year) are pretty good...

Freshman year: I took Journalism 1-2, Honors English, Geometry, P.E., Biology, and Geography honors-first term= 3.50...next semester 4.0

Sophomore year became block schedule (4 classes per semester): Journalism, drivers ed/health/comp.ed, English honors, Chemistry...first term: 4.29, next term: 4.25

Sophomore year spring semester: Journalism, Algebra honors, world history honors, psychology...first term: 3.75, next term: 3.75

I did tennis, I was editor in chief of the paper for two years.

Junior year first term I'm currently taking Spanish, US History honors, physics, and I'm a teacher's aide...and I'm also in academic decathalon.

For senior year I'm taking AP Art History, English, Calculus, Spanish, Sociology...

Would this work out fine? I would like to major in sociology/journalism/history.
