I went to a regular 4 year university and studied Art and my best friend went to Columbia College of Art / Design School in Chicago... what is the difference and does it matter ? He talks about how much better his education was and I wasted my time there..

I'm currently in an Arts general studies bachelor but I would like to study gemstones for a living (Cut, appraise etc.) and I don't really know where to start. My current situation is causing me stress (my marks are really good, just other factors) and I just don't know how to research this subject. If anyone knows much about studying gemology as a first-timer fresh-out-of-highschool student please let me know. Any information will help. And if you do know anything about this, would you happen to know of any universities in Canada that would offer an entry level program for it? Preferably in Ontario and east from there, but it doesn't make a huge difference.

Basic points I'm wondering about:
Where to start
Requirements
Work involved (What kind of courses)
How much math (not so great at it but I could do it)

Thankyou.

the question sounds very childesh. Here's the thing, I'm about to go to college to major in something I like while taking medicine prereq courses, and the problem is that I'm not very sure whether I want to go tomed or vet school after I graduate. I always loved animals, but I don't think I like to study animals anatomy and such stuff. I always liked human biology and I'm very curious about how our body works and all kinds of diseases and conditions. But I think I would like to work with animals more than humans. I'm now so confused, I don't know whether to take medicine prerequisites or veterinary prereqs. What do you think I should do so that I could decide?

I am writing an essay, and want to cut and paste some work from another essay (which is also my own essay) because it is relevant. I am hoping to take relatively large sections from the old essay to this one. Are there any university lecturers out there who can tell me if this is seen as plagirism.

I should be enjoying a successful career if I had only chosen the right door. When I was in high school I was wonderful at math and decided I wanted to be an architect. I was later convinced that that was a bad idea and ended up double majoring in psychology and Japanese and am now in Taiwan studying Chinese while teaching English. But, I now know that architecture would have suited me perfectly had I chosen it.
I know people will say that it's never too late to start over, but let me explain. I grew up on ranch being the only one in my family to go to college and my parents are so proud of what they think I've accomplished. When it comes to my life they trust my decisions 100%. My sisters assume I'll be rich one day. I was voted most likely to succeed when I graduated. To start over would mean humiliation not just for me but for my whole family.
Is it even possible to start architecture at 27? Or should I just continue on my path and make the best of it?

The career I want is one of a more law-enforcement nature and it requires a 4-Year College Degree to be considered for application.

So I was just wondering what kinds of things have you studied so far, and if you've found the studies overwhelming at times or have they been simple throughout?

2 letters from "professors" and 1 letter from "professional work experience" is what I need to get. How much work experience do you think GRad schools want? In other words I will only have 4 months work experience at the time I apply and my job has nothing to do with my field of study....but it's a managerial role.
Any help, ideas suggestions please?

I've seen a lot of science/math grad programs which are quite generous - free tuition, stipends, some even provide housing - but am wondering about whether any colleges offer these for liberal arts, specifically film, writing for the arts (novel, short story, screenwriting), or photography? What kind of programs should someone like me who has extensive college loans (from my B.F.A.) be looking for? I'd like to enroll in a grad program but it would have to be very generous. Do they exist?
