(Im guessing that the answer is pretty obvious, but I just want to see differing opinions..)
It would only be one semester earlier...

Someone told me that they went to a particular university, but when I called the university to ask about it; they said that there was never anyone by that name that ever attended there. Now I don't know what to think. I suspected that he might be lying. He could still swear that he went there, but I don't know what to believe.

I'm number 28 in my class of about 350..maybe--lets say 300, and my GPA is about a 3.6, it will most likely be a 3.7 or 3.8 at the end of this school year. I just want to know right now how hard it is to get into Rice because I know the deadline for applications are coming up like in a week--less than a week actually. I just want to know my chances of getting in. Oh, and I'm going to be taking my SAT in about 2 or 3 weeks.. Please, I really want to get in this school, but I would also like to know my chances of getting in.

I have been thinking about becoming a lawyer in the business world for years now. (I earned my undergrad degree in management about 3 years ago & have been working in the business world.)

What I want to know from CURRENT PRACTICING LAWYERS in BUSINESS is this:

- What should I expect after graduation? (i.e., job offers or lack thereof)

- How did you personally obtain your position?

- What are the different job options available with a concentration on business?

- What is your scope on the future job market for this field?

And finally:
- If I'm planning an 08 entry, any tips on what to be doing in the next year? (Meaning: community service somewhere specific or taking certain courses?)

He has a bachelor's in Education and has been a kindergarten teacher for 9 yrs. He wants to teach early childhood education part time at a community college in the evenings, could he use his years teaching as work experience? Is there anything he can do to get around having to get a masters right away?
And if he has to get a masters for this, could anyone estimate roughly how much that would cost? I know each college is different. Has anyone been through something similar to this? Thanks for any help.

I am a high school senior and i applied to several colleges and have not yet heard back from them all. For my applications, I put an undeclared major. My interests include math (algebra + calculus, numbers, problem solving, analysis), social science (psychology, economics), business (management, finance), and computers (technology, internet, design, networking, some programming). My disinterests include history, science & engineering, geometry & trigonometry, biology & anatomy, etc. I want to do a business major. I was looking into computer science and electrical engineering, but I don't really like science & engineering -- I just like math and computers. I want a major that uses a decent amount of numbers but also uses a good amount of computer/technology (IT) in it. My 2 main interests are BUSINESS and TECHNOLOGY. I plan to go to school for at least 4 yrs, possibly more. I want something that will leave me with an office-type job. Some schools I applied to are OSU, ASU, PSU, and UVA.

I'm an international senior high school student, and I'm planning to study my bachelor's in the US. I will finish h.s in july this year, and I haven't applied for any college yet, and even if I do now I will not have time to be there for the fall semester, because of they delays of the visas and such, so I'm wondering, is there any way I could apply for college after july 2007, or should I wait for next year?

I am 22 years and have my associates degree. I recently became a father for the first time. I wanted opinions on whether raising a family and going back to school to be a dentist is a realistic goal. I want to provide for my family the best that I can. I would most likely have to start school all over because I didn't take that many science classes in my Associates. What do you think.

I have recently enrolled in Kaplan University online. My husband tells me he wants me to go school and that he supports me, but he drops these hints to me that he does not want me to go to school. I have tried to talk to him about me going back to school, but the only answer I get from him is, "I don't care, do what you want."

He wants me to drop out of school that I have not even started yet and move to a bigger city where he can make more money. What about me? I can't get the job i desire doing what I want to do unless I get my Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. I would like to move to a bigger city too, but I also want to go to school, and I am already enrolled in this school and classes start in a couple of days. I don't know what to do.

Please help.

Recently I have seriously considering going to law school but not sure if I have a good shot. I went to a regional engineering school in NJ that is very well known and is up and coming in the nation. I started of with an Electrical Engineering Degree where half way through I decided that I hated it and switched to Managment E Commerce. It took me 7 yrs to get my degree because I had to work the majority of the time I was in school. Because I switched majors my GPA isn't that high (2.8). However, I held several positions in my sorority, invoved in some clubs, recieved who's who, Oder of Omega, and some other awards. I was in the the AF for four years and did pretty well there with some other awards. I'm currently getting my MS in Info Syst and work as an IT Project Manager. I'm looking to go to a school in NJ and wonder what other factors the schools here will look into. I haven't taken the LSAT yet mainly because I'm still studing as it were and my practice scores are terrible.

Did you choose your major based on what you want to learn or what you know you will do well in?

My situation is I am already with a company I can see myself staying with long-term but I'm still working on getting a degree. I'm interested in learning more about computers and while it may help me with my job, it will never be my job. So I'm torn between studying for something that I would love to learn but will never be great at, or something I know I will do well in and can also help with my job but I would not learn much. Any advice?

Thanks!
