get an internship under my belt before I graduate?

(Im guessing that the answer is pretty obvious, but I just want to see differing opinions..)
It would only be one semester earlier...

Go with the internship. It gives you some practical work experience in addition to your academic experience. There is no real advantage to graduating one semester early, while the internship could be a tremendous advantage.

You dont alwasy have to be in school to do an internship so you could possibly do both. After i graduated i did an internship before i looked for a job, it gave me some experience and helped me narrow my career path. Its really up to you.

Most employers dont really care if you graduat eearly or late just that you graduate. Also graduating early can give you a head start on the job market sometimes...there are far less fall graduates than spring graduates so you could get a jump on the job hunt when there is less competition

Why not graduate so you don't have to pay another semester of tuition THEN get an internship of your own?

What field of study are you in?

It depends on the job market.

If you are pretty sure you can get the kind of job you want directly out of college then take the short route.

However, if the job market is tight and there is a lot of competition for the positions, then imagine yourself as the boss and you have several applicants.. Do you choice the one with experience or the one without experience?
