i bought most from a friend but i'm going to be missing a few...also which has the most reliable dilivery?

I noticed that a few of the other answers mention amazon or ebay. There is actually one central website that searches all the major book sellers. I have found this website very helpful & it allows you to run searches by ISBN number.
The link is listed below. Once you search using Best Web Buys, you click on the vendor with the price & quality you'd like and then the link takes you to that vendor's site. A great search engine!

Get the ISBN number off the back of the book (from the college bookstore); do NOT buy the book there! Go on Amazon and search by ISBN number, you'll find the right edition, make sure to buy the "used and new" under the book listing. Also, try craigslist.com and look in your area, I've gotten great deals off of there. Half.com also has used textbooks, sometimes for less than anywhere else, but they don't have as large a selection as Amazon. Take the money you saved and go out for lunch!

Be very careful doing this - I have students who ended up with the wrong edition of a text or just the wrong text by the same author. Amazon.com has some, sometimes - but often older editions which don't help. Check you university/college - they often have a used bookstore on campus.

I like amazon...inexpensive delivery prices. You get to look at peoples ratings before you buy so you know if they are reliable. Most times they will tell you that they send out "next day".

ebay and amazon both have used text books. Also, efollet.com which is used by most major universities. efollet and amazon both have good delivery.
