What are the degrees you have to obtain?

2006-12-11 23:32:40 · 2 answers · asked by teacher's pet 2

My son studying in 11th grade received his PSAT scores and they are as follows.
Critical Reading 64,
Mathematics 70
Writing skills 58.
Total selection Index 192 out of 240
Percentile is 94.
What are the chances of him being eligible for any kind of financial aid while applying for his college? He wants to go for Medicine. Is this score considered a good score? I would appreciate if some one experienced in this area can let me know.

Thanks
Ram

should i go to LA or NY to continue my acting career in FILM. i heard my teacher tell me LA is best for film acting but everyone else tells me that NY is the best place to go.
considering the fact that im from the east coast, ive always loved new york. i want to go and live there and i like the somewhat cold climate of NYC and the diversity and people etc,,
LA....ive never been to and i dont think id like to hang around a bunch of plastics walking around everywhere. i dont like the whole sunny la scene, but i think i have no choice?

anyways, long story short, my career depends on either one , so which one in your opinion is the way to go?

and about the universities, maybe la has better acting universities?

im thinking about UCLA or NYU which is where i want to go, but im so lost!!!!!

please be honest and supportive, i dont know how else to go about this

answers are appreciated!
=)

Dear Mr. Ajay Aggarwal,

Times Flies like an arrow. Yes, We've been together three years now & soon it'll be time for me to go. But before I do, I wanted to share some thoughts, some of which I've been saving for a long time.

Someone once told me that time is a predator that stalked us all our lives. But I rather believe that time is a companion who goes with us on the journey that reminds us to cherish every moment because they'll never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we lived it.

Actually, I have been transferred to Meghna Automobiles Ltd, a sister concern of renowned Meghna Group. So Mr.
Shahadat Hossain, newly Executive of Prince Marketing Ltd will take over my full charge relating to your company & contact you from now on. His e-mail address is shahadat.pml@gmail.com

Mr.Hossain is very cooperative & sincere of his duties. I am sure that you will enjoy warm association.

Above all, you must contact me if you have any inquiry.

Wishing you a happy & prosperous New Year-2007.

Thanks & Best Regards,

Shuhan

You know, one of those courses where you would rather pay the university twice as much money to not have to take it. For me, this class is "Sensation and Perception" ... a Psychology course which teaches you everything you never wanted or needed to know.

I'm considering Pharm as my major very seriously. While understanding that pharm is a great job to have both financially and emotionally, but the problem is I DO NOT like chemistry. I'm pretty good at math, maybe biology, but things like hexadiotride nitrocarbondioxide make me wanna puke (maybe misspelled). Did you guys/girls really had a inclination towards chemistry? or did you just have to get it over with so that you could become pharmacists? Would I be able to be one, although I'm not that interested in Chemistry?

I am planning on getting a degree in either Honors Physics or Honors Astrophysics (no real difference in the courses I would take). And I am wondering does anyone have any idea as to the research opportunities with just a degree?

I could probably find a decent job with the degree doing math/problem solving related work, but not really any research related work. The physics department had a job fair type thinger, but I missed it. I'll go next year when they have it though. There are job postings for associate professors and research related work, but they all require a Ph.D.

Would it be worth it to stop after the degree and try to get a job doing research, or just go straight for Masters and Ph.D? Money isn't really an issue.

I just want to hear what people say what university I should go to, I will be transfering as either a Political Science major or Religious Studies and I plan to go to Grad school in something. I have scholarships but I would need a loan for USC. I want to hear of your experiences and whatnot. And if you have another idea of a school tell me.

1. UCLA
2. USC
3. UCSD
4. UCSC
5. UCI
6. CSULB

I have a Bachelors Degree in Social Science. That means rather than studying one subject, I studied multiple stuff: English, Psychology, and Human Development. Does anyone know of a good job I can get with this kind of degree? If you have this kind of degree - what were you able to do with it?

I heard that you shouldn't get your Master's degree from the same institution that granted you your Bachelor's degree. Is there any truth to this? Does it look better to potential employers if your degrees are from separate institutions?

Not to be rude, but, please, if you don't have personal experience (have a Bachelor's/ Master's, work in educational administration, are on the hiring committee of an educational institution) don't answer. I don't need answers like, "Sounds right to me". Thanks.
