Ok, heres my question. Im all registered for classes at my college, but I hear this one professor for english is a tough guy. Should I drop that class? or should I try it, and challenge myself to give it my all and pray that I can pass?

Don't take what people say about professors too seriously. Most people that talk bad about professors do it because they didnt do good in class and they need an excuse. When I have taken classes with professors that people have told me are tough, it turned out that the professor was great. I guess the point is to see who is telling you the professor is tough, you will find out that it is most likely a student that doesnt do so well. Also, if they say the professor is tough, take it as a challenge. If you can pass it, then you might pass anything!

Depends on a few things. (1) is english your major; if so then having a tough professor will probably help you in the end but if not then it would just be a waste and you should focus more on your major's classes (2) will taking it next semester delay any of your other courses (assuming you have a course to fill in that spot this semester)? If not, then it wouldn't hurt to put it off and hope to get another professor

Also, depending on the size of your college you might just be able to change the actual class time/division number so that you would have a different professor.

It depends. How confident are you with English? If you think you can rise to the challenge, go for it! A professor who will challenge you to excel and won't accept less than full effort can be a great asset and can help you get the most out of the class.

However, if you struggle in English normally, you may find that he makes it too difficult for you, and you may feel discouraged and want to drop out later. At least now you have the option of switching to a different class.

Go and meet the professor (not to talk about this! Make up another excuse!) There are two kinds of tough professors in my opinion: 1.) great teachers with high standards, and 2.) teachers who don't communicate well with students, making their instructions hard to follow. Figure out which kind this guy is. My hardest classes have often been my best. And those hard classes helped my GPA, too, because they helped me grow as a student. Also, ask friends about this guy or look him up on http://www.ratemyprofessor.com

I have a hard time understanding why you would ask such a question. Do you think there's a great book in the sky that tells everyone what the right thing to do is, and that everyone has better access to it than you do? Not hardly. There are no shoulds. You make your choice and you live with the consequences. Fear of making the wrong choice will paralyze you. I offer advice I learned at age 17:

Live your life as if you're already living it for the second time, and as if you messed it up the first time just as badly as you are doing now.

Let go of the edge of the pool. Get out there and swim. It's a blast.

There is the possibility that what you heard is incorrect. You will have to decide if you want the challenge, or the gamble of another section. In most universities, having the right professor can be the difference between enjoying the course, or being miserable.

It's english, how hard can it be (lol) ?
Unless there's another class more stimulating, I'd take the tough guy. I like the challenge. You won't need to pray, give it your best, get into a study group and obtain adequate nutrition and rest. You'll be fine.
If you really hit a snag during the course, talk to the man, he'll guide you through it - don't they just love to tell us what we oughta' do!
Good luck.
