Communication is the transfer of information. In order for information to spread, it needs to be communicated. For example, This information is in my head, until now where it is placed on these forums and communicated to readers, where they now have the information.

communication is when you talk or communicate with someone. information is when you get some information from someone or somewhere

Information is a "thing" (albeit an intangible one), Communication is a "process".
