should i go to LA or NY to continue my acting career in FILM. i heard my teacher tell me LA is best for film acting but everyone else tells me that NY is the best place to go.
considering the fact that im from the east coast, ive always loved new york. i want to go and live there and i like the somewhat cold climate of NYC and the diversity and people etc,,
LA....ive never been to and i dont think id like to hang around a bunch of plastics walking around everywhere. i dont like the whole sunny la scene, but i think i have no choice?
anyways, long story short, my career depends on either one , so which one in your opinion is the way to go?
and about the universities, maybe la has better acting universities?
im thinking about UCLA or NYU which is where i want to go, but im so lost!!!!!
please be honest and supportive, i dont know how else to go about this

If your goal is film, LA is the place to go.

Seems to me u already made ur decision u just need a push so here goes: If u really want to learn about acting then NYC is the place to learn with all it's real actors being on Broadway in front of live audiences. From these is where generally most Hollywood actors are found if they are really good and stand out. Hollywood Moguls read all the critics sections of every NYC paper for reviews on the best new talents coming up in town. Good luck in ur future.

I think you answered your own question. Go somewhere where you will be happy, if you are not happy then I don't think you will excell in your carreer. Try NY since you love it already and if things don't work out then you can always try LA later, but make sure you do your homework and maybe make a pro and cons list of both places to help you out a bit...best of luck
