Oberlin is a superb, highly selective liberal arts college in Ohio. It has a history of being progressive on issues of race and gender, conferring the very first degrees in America to women and African-Americans. It continues in this tradition.
It is a small school, with very personalized attention from professors. It is in a beautiful small college-town setting, and is
an hour or so away from Cleveland.
It has a great "semester away" program. It encourages independent studies. It has an excellent Music Conservatory program. Its environmental studies program is also outstanding.

You have many options! Why not try the Princeton Review's website to take a look at schools, and the type of students they admit. Then make a list of about 6-7 of your favorite schools. Two "reaches" two "good matches" and two "safeties." Then apply to the schools. Anyway, be careful what you study, and how much you spend for the degree. Don't get into tons of debt for a degree employers aren't looking for. Colleges tell you money doesn't matter but it will when you get the bill and you don't have enough money to pay for it. Take it from a young adult recently graduated.
