Hello all, I am a college freshman and wanted to know if I had any chance of getting into NYU (New York University) as a transfer. I had a high school GPA of about 2.9, 1960 on the SATs (out of 2400, the new SATs) and I have about a 3.25 in college so far. It's been one of my dream schools since I can remember. Please be honest. Thank you!

Why not just join the Army, learn a skill then finish your contract and go make a $100 K in an overseas contract somewhere ? I mean what the heck, do you all enjoy repaying them student loans and dealing with all that BS ?

Can someone tell me where I could find ratings for various medical schools? For example I'd like to know how the University of Washington's M.D./p.h.D program compares to that of the University of Chicago. Thanks very much for your time and help!

Hello. Well, I just wanted to say that I've been feeling very down lately...I am a senior in college, and I feel as though I have no right to be complaining. I attend a good school and have had a relatively easy time throughout my time here. Classes have certainly been challenging, but I've never had to work 2 jobs to pay for school or been the object of severe hatred. Yet I feel like I have maybe one friend, my social life has been pretty pitiful, I have not done really well in my major or most of my classes. I'm frustrated that I don't have a passion that I want to address when I graduate. Basically, I feel like it's all been a very blah experience, and I'm no closer to understanding what I want to do with my life than when I entered. For a while now I've been extremely apathetic about school and meeting new people...I just want to leave all this behind. I feel incredibly lonely and feel like I have no direction. Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Hello all and thanks for reading my question.
I am a graduate student (PhD) at university of southern California (USC). I study civil engineering here but the department is not very good in civil engineering and I wasn’t able to get any funding from the department. I would like to apply to better schools but I have one problem which is my undergrad grades which I did in another country. (it is 14/20 which is average). How ever my masters GPA is very high (3.98/4) and the courses I have taken here were very tough courses. I also have a good GRE score. Do you guys think I can get into a better school bases on what I said or just continue what I am doing at USC?

I'm going for my masters in social welfare, and at the moment im working on applications. in terms of finding jobs, does it really matter what grad school I go to? am i likely to have much more success in finding jobs if i go to san francisco state rather than hayward state( now csu east bay)? does it really matter what grad school you go to, and, if so, in what ways?

also, do employers look at your gpa when youre first applying for jobs after you earn your masters?

thanks.

Ok I just talked to a professsional about how i could adapt to college should i choose to go back. I have ADHD and Dyslexia and live in the state of Maryalnd. She said that if I went to a four year school, I would not have any help with my disabilities or accomedations. ( You can never get me to perform well on a timed test, it is impossible,Iam seriours and do not mean metaphorically). So what would one like me do if I chose to go back to college? I cannot pass a course without accomedations and let alone even with them I still fail courses (I get awsome grades for projects and assignments and attendance, but If the course has 50% of its grade based on tests I will fail it no matter how much I study. I have logged 98 hours in week of study for my final exam and still failed it tho the lowest score I got out of all of my assignments is a 80)

I just recieved my grades for this semester and they do not look good. I got a D in calculus and a C+ in Biology II. I did put forth the effort in these courses. How will pharm school adcoms view me? I have tried for 2 years to get a job as a pharm tech with no luck. The only thing I have under my belt is 2 years of Volunteer exp in a school/hopital emergency room. I would like to hear from practicing pharmacists as well.
