I just recieved my grades for this semester and they do not look good. I got a D in calculus and a C+ in Biology II. I did put forth the effort in these courses. How will pharm school adcoms view me? I have tried for 2 years to get a job as a pharm tech with no luck. The only thing I have under my belt is 2 years of Volunteer exp in a school/hopital emergency room. I would like to hear from practicing pharmacists as well.

Unfortunately, I would think your math and science skills would need to be up to par to be a successful pharmacist. My best advice would be just to work a tad bit harder, practice math problems, etc.

You've got that volunteer work on your side though. Best of luck!

Pre-Pharm like Pre-Med is not a major but more of an advising track or list of advised classes to take. I went to a school, for prePharm, which had a pharmacy program, but there are plenty of pharm students who went to schools which do not have a program. If you are on the 2 year prePharm track, you'll probably not have to name a major. The most common majors are biology, chemistry, and biochemistry. California is the hardest state, in terms of admissions. You'll need closer to a 3.5 GPA, and that is also true at a lot of pharmacy schools. It's hard to get into a school, period. My own school has an acceptance rate of 1 in 9. The overall average GPA for successful applicants is about 3.4-3.5.

I assume you are a high school senior - My family did a lot of college visits this year as my son in interested in Pharm D - I think with your low GPA your best best to get accepted would be some ultra stellar SAT and ACT scores - If you have not taken these I would get involved in an intensive review course - this may be your best bet

Extremely, extremely low. Almost no one gets accepted with less than a 3.0 GPA.g The average GPA is close to a 3.5. Retake courses which you got a C or worse in, and get a bachelors. Then, maybe you'll have a chance.

I guess you have a slim chance because pharm schools looke at your grades in science classes.

If you still have time, get A's in your other science classes to make up for this.

let's see..... you tanked calculus and biology.......no chance for you

Sorry. You must retake those courses. A 2.7 GPA absolutely will not cut it!
