Usually the 2 year program is for R.N. When you finish this program you are a Graduate nurse. When you pass your board exams, you are a Registered nurse. most states and employers prefer/reguire a 4 yr B.S.N. degree in nursing now. You can get you R.N. with your 2 year degree and start working. Then transfer your credits to a nearby Universtity and take 2 more years while you work(some people drag that out longer) and get tuition reimbursement from your employer. Many people do this. Talk to the people at the 2 yr. school and find out if their program is coordinated with a nearby University so the credits will be accepted without a problem. Most are.

Usually, it is an RN, but you need to check with the individual college to be sure.

yes it is and MOST people get good jobs with just an associate..a bachelors pays more..Bachelors qualify for management, teaching, etc. positions and more pay but most places want qualified nurses and with the nursing shortage..they will accept a associates..
