i was just wondering, let's say you have a high GPA, but you're not exactly a valedictorian. and let's say you apply to a few prestigous schools, maybe an Ivy or two, would you even be considered if you're a non valedictorian? but what if you have lots of extracurriculars, sports, volunteering and other unique accomplishments? and what if you write an amazing and engrossing admissions essay, and you feel confident that you could captivate the deans of admissions so that they will single you out, causing you to rise above the rest of applicants? i'm afraid that when i apply for college in a couple years, just because i'm not a valedictorian they will reject me right away without considering my other achievements and other attributes. please help me i'm really nervous!! and i'm a sophomore so i'm beginning to trek into this overwhelming college picking-visiting-applying process!!

I am currently a freshman in college studying Arabic and International Relations. Unfortunately, the school is good at marketing, but the programs are pretty terrible. Also, I have always wanted to join the army for a while for the experience and to hopefully make a difference. Thus, I have two options the way I see it.
I can transfer to another school that is pretty good, but that I'm not crazy about, get my degree, then hopefully use the Army's college loan repayment program to pay for school since I won't be getting any scholarships as a transfer student.
Or, I can join the army now, and come back to school once my time is up. In this way, I'd be able to apply as a freshman (and be eligible for more scholarships) and use the GI Bill to help pay for school. Also, this way I'd have a good chance of attending my dream school, Columbia, which has a special program for those who've been away from education for a while.

In your response, identify and discuss a counter-argument for each of these arguments:

· If businesses expand their employees’ opportunities to telecommute, they will increase employee productivity, decrease employee burnout and operational overhead costs, and improve their community by cutting down on traffic and pollution.

· Violent video games promote violent behavior in children and since efforts to prevent children from getting access to them have failed, they should be banned.

Then discuss how each author could address these counter-arguments in their essays. Your response should be in complete sentences and paragraphs and 200-300 words in length.

I am very interested in becoming a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated upon going to school out of state and returning home, it has been hard to locate chapters in my area though I have made contact with a few, they are not having an intake process for about 4 years. Though I don't mind the wait I would like to find a chapter that is open (meaning accepting and warm), active and positive. I have wanted to be a member since I was a little girl, there are no members in my family; I would like to be the first to start a phenomenal legacy.
– The reason why I never did it at my school is because the chapter was suspended my sophomore year.
Please someone be of some assistance to me.
I am located in New York

I have two years left in college and am majoring in English. I have the opportunity to join the honors program and earn a University Honors on my degree. I want to go to grad school but do not know if the extra classes are worth the effort. What do you think? Do you think it will help my chances for grad school? Right now I have a 3.8 on a 4.0 scale.

I'm writing an extensive paper analyzing different sources, i.e., similarities, differences, interconnections, etc, etc.

The problem is: I ran out of idea. I compared authors, the way the papers are written (language, word usage), who the papers are written for, how the papers are connected, what are the purposes of the papers, etc, etc.

It's pretty difficult synthesizing so many sources into a one single package.

If you have any ideas or know of any good websites that would help, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Colleges and universities are ending their early admission programs, but why are they. Maybe they should, but why are they when they have had the programs for a while and they had to have agreed with them. What provoked them to get rid of it now?

I received a BA from a school that ranked #2 in it's program, and among the top 25 in the USA. However, my GPA was dreadful (2.34).

I would like to continue my education and have 3+ years of work experience in leadership roles. Which traditional schools-- either in the Washington, D.C. metro area-- or online would accept me?

I'm currently a running start student at a community college and I have to take a science course next quarter. Which science course is more interesting? Physics, Astronomy, Atmospheric science, Chemistry, Biology, or Geology? I really want to take a science course that is interesting to learn about and not too difficult.

I dropped out of college a while back but I want to get back into school. I did a college search http://apps.collegeboard.com/search/servlet/advsearchservlet?buttonPressed=viewResults&navigateTo=9&viewpage=1 and found out Puerto Rico had the cheapest schools in the country even for nonresidents. I'm already in debt, I wanted to study Spanish anyways, and I just need an accredited degree. Are their degrees accredited? Is Puerto Rico accepting of blacks?

At a local convenience store, you purchased a cup of coffee but, at 98.4 Degrees Celcius, it is too hot to drink. You add 23.0g of ice that is -2.2 Degrees Celsius to 248 mL of the coffee. What is the final temperature of the coffee? (assume the heat capasity and density of the coffee are the same as water and the coffee cup is well insulated.)
