The following areas of law would all be directly be relevant:

consumer protection laws, safety standards, competition law (antitrust), patents, registered designs, trademarks and export laws

Of course car manufacturers are generally large corporations so there would be various other indirect areas of law affecting them, such as corporations law, employment law and contract law.

The main law is the "Construction & use regulations," but of course, a manufacturer has to comply with many hundreds of other laws concerned with finance, health & safety, environment, wages, national insruance, employer liability etc etc.
