how do you identify spectator ions in redox equations?
I understand everything about redox equations like oxidation and reduction how to balance them. Balance the electrons and balance them in acidic and basic solution. But how do you identify spectator ions? Like I know that when an element such as Na is attached to dichromate =
Na2Cr2O7 -2 we must eliminate the Na. I know this but how about this problem:
AuCl3 + NaI > Au + I2 + NaCl

my teacher eliminated all Cl and Na
so AU + I > Au + I2 (why??? eliminate Na and Cl is it because they dont change oxidation states in the reaction???)

why does this occur? ANY help please would be great

I was dissapointed to see my midterm mark in one of my classes. The thing is, I wasted 3 or more days reading the chapters that were assigned and doing some questions. I went over all the material but had not done good on the exam even though I though I did. I would like some tips on how to study and what works best.
I am in University and have 4 different courses mostly to do with business and accounting.

I'm getting my bs degree in bio/molecular chemistry this coming june and i was wondering what would be the best thing to do after ward. a job? go for an MBA or a master degree? i was also thinking of applying to pharmacy school but that might be a lil difficult for me since my gpa isn't too high compare to the requirements of those schools.

I am a highschool student taking pre-AP (advanced placement) classes. The curriculm is way hard and I stay up 'til almost 3 'o clock every morning. My teachers say it will all prepare me for "college". Some colleges I am interested in are Spelman, Tenn State, Florida A&M, and Clark and Atlanta. Is college really as hard as teachers make it seems.

I got approved for the pell grant but I dont know what I want to take. I keep thinking well I got approved so why not go all the way for the RN but is it worth it? I am a full time stay at home mother and I dont want this to take too much away from my kids Plus I am pregnant and am not going to start till the baby is born Should I just take the LPN so I can get out of school quicker.

I have completed 10+2 and DOEACC “A” level and 4 DOEACC “B” level papers.
I am from Nepal and I have been working here in a software company for 2 years.
I would like to do MSc IT from Karnataka State Open University but as it seems my qualification is insufficient for MSc IT.

Ok, so I go to a Big Ten, very well known university. It's one of the best in the nation. The thing is, I absolutely hate this college. Not because of the workload or anything, I just hate it. All the students are rich snobs, the professors are stuck up and it's costing me a lot of money. I want to transfer to a private college in my home town because it's a small university and I won't feel like a number. I also want to major in social work but my current college doesn't offer that major. If I transfer to the private, not well known college my tuition would be covered. Should I transfer from a prestigious college to a private small college? I'm afraid I'll regret it if I do it, but I hate it here and I really want to major in social work. I'm not sure what to do.

I have a paper on Aphorisms and their history i have been looking all over for the history of aphorisms but i cant find anything. And i don't need a definition i already know the definition of it which is that aphorism is a short saying that reveals true human nature.
A great Aphorist is Fredrich Nietche who said "There is an innocence in admiration; it is found in those to whom it has never yet occurred that they, too, might be admired some day." ANY HELP!?

Okay..I have to classify Holidays and then I have to write an essay on it but I dont know how I would Classify Holidays. Where do I start? I was going to do Christmas,Easter and Halloween and then talk about 3 diffrent countries that celebrate that and how they celebrate it. I am in a chemistry 102 lab course, and the teacher tells us to ask questions when we are unsure. I asked a question and she gave me a very mean and negative tone telling me that i needed to read the book more and i wasnt prepared. I asked her why she was using such a negative tone with me and she flipped out screaming at me that she didnt have to answer nequestions for me and i should be smart enough to answer that question (half the class were stuck on the problem, they were too scared to ask her) and then she told me that she knew what kind of student i was from other teachers ( i took and dropped this class over the summer because of work and family issues) and she says that she refuses to help me or answer anymore questions. I was furious and said back to her that she had no need to scream and embarass me infron of 24 classmates and she told me to get out of her class and never come back. I was cring afterwards for 3 hours and talked to her supervisor, but he wont help. HELP ME PL
