What will ur topic be if ur ask to do a public speaking in ur college?
P.s..It's juz a 5-8 minutes speech..
Juz hope dat u guyz can give me some feed back..coz i'm totally blank right now..this is my first time..

It's hard to suggest a specific topic w/o more info from you, but here are some suggestions to help you find one yourself:
(1) make it a light-hearted topic, humorous if possible
(2) pick something you already know about or are interested in
(3) the topic need not be grandiose - it's all in how you go about it
(4) start your speech with a question and then pause to let the audience mentally answer it to themselves
Tips for preparing for your speech:
(a) practice giving the speech to a friend, to a mirror or your dog
(b) practice the timing with this online timer: http://www.centraltoastmasters.org/timer.html
(c) preparing in advance will reduce the number of useless utterances such as ah's, um's, you know's, etc which distract your audience
(d) memorize your opening and closing statements
(e) use index cards to highlight your main discussion points
Tips for giving the speech:
(i) relax as much as possible - do deep breathing before
(ii) smile
(iii) move your gaze around the audience - don't lock on one person of one section
(iv) use hand and head gestures to emphasize your statements
(v) don't hug yourself or lock your arms behind your back
Still stuck for a topic? How about a topic about cellphones, e.g. "How I chose my cellphone's ringtong"?

Why not speak about illiteracy in college students? It appears as if you have so experience here.
