I am currently a nurse (and hate it). I've worked as a nurse for almost 20 years. I want to go back to school. I'm just not sure what to take. I love animals, nature etc. I like math and science. I don't want to work directly with customers/patients. I'm sick of hands-on care of people. I'm not an introvert, but I am just tired of taking care of people. My passion is gone for it. What does a thirty-something person go back to school for? I don't think it's logical for me to go to medical school or something like that, although the money would be NICE! I'd be forty+ when I was done. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

I am considering starting school soon and am worried about how much money I will be able to borrow. It would be nice not to have a job all through my first four years of college, and I know for a fact that I wont be able to hold a job and go to med school at the same time. Can I get away with borrowing the money for school and living expenses for the entire eight years? Med school alone is going to cost me $140k (including living expenses.)

I am struggling to find a real career that is a good fit for me. The careers that I want and find to be right for me all require Bachelors and Masters degrees with many years of work experience. I have been researching online and came across online degree programs that may or may not be a good option as to get a degree in less time. I only want to know, does online degree programs really work when getting a career that requires high degrees?

I ahve devoted about 90 percent of my entire life to school. I have very few friends and had no social life during grade school. During my time in highschool Iwould spend at least 12 hours a night studying or doing homework everynight. It started to affect my health during my junior year.I also picked some ba dhabits such as drinking and smoking which probably the only thing keeping me from having a full mental breakdown. Iam begining to encounter this in college. My school experiences were bad enough for me to wish that I would never remember them and I wanna stop having to rely on my addictions to deal with the stress. It is to the point of infuration with me studying that I am signifacantly more aggressive. My question is, Can one live a successful life without college or is there another way to get an education? Id rather die than to put up with this any longer. I graduated Highscholl with a 3.8 GPA and was inducted into 3 honor societies and attained the rank of Eagle in the scouts.

Right now I am a mathematics major, but my heart is not in it at all. I am good, but unhappy. I love social and culteral history and psychology, yet somewhere I ended up going into Calculus 1 and 2. Help me!!! I am miserable, and I don't know how to turn down my professor who is trying to give me a scholarship in math, and I don't want to disappoint my father or mother. I also want to be able to have a job in the future. WHAT DO I DO!!!!!!!!!!!
