Higher Education (University +) - October 2006

I already have 2 years complete from a community college, so all i need is two more years to get B.S.
However, because i work full time and i don't have time to go to a campus anymore I am considering univ. of phoenix online. Gonna cost me about $25k for two years, but that's the way to go it seems if you want a job that pays $60k/year.
Does anyone know about this school, is it good or not? What do you think? Please give me your opinion/advice.

I am currently working on my Master's Degree in Criminal Justice and I am looking for jobs once I graduate. The problem is that everyone wants me to have experience, but nobody is willing to give it to me. It seems like the only thing I can do after graduation is become a police officer, but I could've done that without graduate school. I want to do something related to criminal investigations, but I have no idea how to get there without becoming a police officer. Any suggestions?

Hello everyone,

I am trying to prepare for my research project and have to come up with ten one-sentence scenarios. These scenarios may involve witnessing criminal events, experiencing natural disasters, running into accidents (i.e. burning car or drowning person), or encountering potential harm to another (i.e. child / adult severely injured by another in a fight, etc.). It could be situations in which you encounter that you did not know how to respond.

I have came up with some scenarios, but it sounds a little shaky so I am asking for you help.

Ex: You're walking down the street and saw a couple arguing
intensely what would you do?

is this a good career for my future or should i give up on that, meaning there are so many people that want to do that i dont even have a chance. (like many people want to be lawyers or doctors for example and there is a low chance i will be succesful)

I am currently a first-year student taking an undergraduate program (undecided major). However, I'm interested in the medical field and was just wondering what specifically I should be taking (I reside in Ontario, Canada). I love writing and i've been writing poetry since i was 12 and it comes naturally and people always tell me i'm good at writing but i don't know what i should do with my future career.I want to go to college and learn to write songs and scripts and things but i don't want to waste my time and not do what i love. Every career aptitude test i take says thats what i should be doing but that doesn't mean i'll succeed and i have adaughter and an apartment to take care of i can't take too big of risks but i want us to have a good future.What do u think i should do if don't go to college should i do a trade?Which one i need decent money to provide for us and i don't want to hate my job.I like administrative work but i get bored easily after i'm doing something for too long, i need diersity i don't want to be stuck behind a computer all day 9-5.

I have accidentally written the wrong social security number on fitfteen college aplications that I have already sent in. The number is also wrong on the transcripts from the school as well as my teacher reccomendations. They all have the same wrong number, which is two digits off from my correct number. Should I try to contact every single school and make sure they get the right number, or should I just leave it and finish the applications using the wrong number? They just use it to organize what you send in I'm pretty sure, so as long as I use the same wrong number I should be fine. Am I right?

At University we often have to sit through those crazy things called lectures. My question is do you prefer the presenter (lecturer) to use an Over Head Projector (OHP- a big lamp that focuses clear plastic sheets with text onto a plain background) or do you prefer them to use Powerpoint? If you do prefer one or the other, why?
