surgical residency programs are very competitive is there any suggestion to make my resume outstanding and give me better chance?

stress your work experience and any volunteer work that is related to medicine this will guide the committee also list your skills and abilities related to medicine emphasizing those that are surgical related and any post graduate work you have done

Have you thought about adding a nice, picture of yor face so that people can get an idea what you look like.
I have my picture on my resume.
IF you have a Web site adding the URL can give you an edge.
