I have accidentally written the wrong social security number on fitfteen college aplications that I have already sent in. The number is also wrong on the transcripts from the school as well as my teacher reccomendations. They all have the same wrong number, which is two digits off from my correct number. Should I try to contact every single school and make sure they get the right number, or should I just leave it and finish the applications using the wrong number? They just use it to organize what you send in I'm pretty sure, so as long as I use the same wrong number I should be fine. Am I right?

I would type up a letter of correction to all of the schools. If it is just rearranging 2 digits, the people in the admin office can make a quick fix and put this letter in your file, not only will this help you in the future but they can make the changes at their disposal and not have to make them on the phone will trying to deal with everything they have going on.

in the event that they do a credit examine (which they exceptionally much unquestionably will) and the credit examine comes up with a diverse SSN (or they are able to't get yours by way of incorrect SSN), they'll call you up and say that they think of you positioned the incorrect selection down on the utility. then you definately tell them the desirable selection and that they do the credit examine lower back. If it is nevertheless incorrect, they'll probably supply up on you, figuring they don't prefer a tenant who can not even positioned up the desirable SSN. they might parent which you're hiding something and not prefer to handle it.

I would correct it, because thats how you are able to apply for financial aid, and ssn is used for number of things at the college. try calling them up and see if anyone can locate your application and change it for you. set up a day where you can spend all day calling the places you applied at, good luck.

NO! You are gonna have to call them and give them the right number. This might even be illegal, especially if you keep using the wrong number.
