I'm a junior in high school, and my main strength is my GPA (around a 4.3 w/some honors and AP classes). Has anyone had success getting a merit scholarship, because I have heard it is a lot more difficult to come by then, say, an athletic scholarship or a music scholarship...at least to get one that is large enough to make a difference on the tab.

I am having a hard time understanding my EFC of 1549. It was higher but I asked for them to review it for me because of loss of job. I am tring to go to school this summer at a local community college. The estimated tuition for a whole year is $2500-$3000. I didn't know if I will be responsible for the whole $1549 amount (as my part) in the summer since I didn't go in the fall and spring. If they apply all this to the summer session I won't be able to get any help. I will be able for F.A. starting in the fall since it is on a different tax year. I still have awhile (2weeks) before I receive my financial aid package letting me know whether I get any help. I am bitting my nails off- worried to death and would like some input.

I am 18 but I have no credit history. My father refuses o cosign for me because I'm staying on campus. (He thinks I'll just be partying all the time, there's no convincing him.) My mother doesn't mind but she has bad credit. I want to get a loan but I'm not sure if and how it's possible for me to get one on my own? Also can anyone suggest some good scholarships websites?

Hi, my name is Ronica. This year in September I am going to the United Kingdom for a student exchange program. I need at least 8,000 dollars to pay the program (study-abroad-uk.com). Does anyone know any really good grants that I could use to pay for my expenses? Also is there a such thing as personal grants,? and if so what can you spend the money on?
Thanks, Cheamo....

I did the 6 schools at first then I waited to get my SAR. After I got it back I went back to the FAFSA site and clicked "Add or Delete and school code"

It didn't say add a schoolcode anywhere...it just showed the six I already submitted...so since I already submitted them I took them all off and just put the one that I needed to add. I had 7 (six the 1st time and one the 2nd time). I got my SAR report and it showed one school. How do I know if it kept the old ones too? By deleting them did that get rid of them from my list even though I already submitted it? Are all 7 supposed to be on one SAR?

Please tell me what I should do if I'm doing something wrong...or tell me what you did.
