I am applying for financial aid to pay for school, but I might need loans to help me besides the grants. Do I need good credit for me to get any type of loan to help pay school?

I really want to go to italy for my senior semester in high school but all of the programs are so expensive. I want to study music and go to the local school. Would it be cheaper if I switched places with another foreign exchange student wishing to come to the US? I already know about some scholarship oppurtunities but they don't offer much as far as I know. I could use any help... anything!

My mom is pushing me to join the Navy but my other family is pushing for college (Univ of South Carolina). I will not have any financial support from my family. I have given serious thought towards joining, and I wouldn't mind it, but I can't help but feel like I should be going to college. Yes I can use the GI bill but realistically, I would get my degree faster going full time and I've always wanted to be an officer. I'm academically competitive but scholarships are so hard to get and I really don't want to take out outrageous loans. What is the smartest thing to do that will put me in a better position in the long term?

Is there any way that I could get a student loan in my own hands? I've got one before but it went right to the school. I need it for books and other expenses for college and the one I attend is $26,000 all together for my degree. I know a lot of people get more than they need and they actually have all the money in their own hands. I need it for transportation, etcetera.. I have a job, and I'm starting another one this Saturday but I'm very low income. How would I go about this, and what bank would be ideal for this? What should I say?

I have to add that I am 22 years old, work full-time and go to school on-line. I've been to the Fastweb and others like it, but cannot find what I am looking for. And when I look up government grants all I can find are these sites that want me to order stuff. I am at a lost and really need help finding money for school. Can anyone suggest anything?

I am not against them(Americans) getting scholarships but i think they should be opened to all other citizens of different countries. its almost 20 times now, I have been receiving scholarship offers online and would qualify in most of the things stated but the fact that I aint an American citizen, i become unqualified and thats so painful since some of us are really in need of financial aids to finish our courses.

If you defaulted on a student loan when you were young and dumb, and the balance has been paid, do you know weather or not that affects your being able to be approved again?

Seeing as how I paid it back, even though I never graduated. I was given so much opportunity and I blew it.

I'm enrolled in a training school, but I plan to starting community college this fall. So here's the deal: I NEED A NEW CAR. My car's falling to pieces! When I got the car, my sister had driven it 8 yrs, and my mom maybe a 1-2yrs before that. It's a '93 corolla, & it's been good to me! It just breaks down about every three months! The key is broken in the lock, the black seal thing is coming off the windshield (which means my windshield could come off sometime in the near future), & my friend managed to take the seat belt latch off, so the passenger seat belt is basically useless. I NEED A NEW CAR. Should I get a student loan or a regular loan? I've tried filling out student loan online apps, & they ask me my expected grad year. I'm graduating from the tech school in June, but I'm still going on to community college, then university, then grad school. Do I put in my tech school's grad date or after I'm finished w/ everything? If I get a reg loan, do I need a cosigner?

They say "free money" is out there but I sure can't find it! I'm wanting to apply for college for a pre-veterinary course so that I can later go to vet school but I need help. I've applied for FASFA but I didn't get it. My parents make too much but I hardly make anything! Can someone help me? Are there grants for becoming a vet? I regret I didn't DO my best in High School when I could have. (I graduated in 2006 with a 2.89 GPA)
