Financial Aid

There is not easy answer to your question. Determining aid eligibility is complex and not determined by any one particular thing like where you live. It also depends on what type of aid you are applying for.

If you are asking if you don't have to report your parent's income and assets on aid applications if you live alone, the answer to that is probably not.

Whether or not you have to report parental income depends on your age, marital status, grade level, etc.

Each case is individual. I suggest you talk to a counselor/advisor in the Financial Aid Office at your school.

Not really. Financial Aid awards are determined mostly by income. Even if you don't live at home, your parents income is considered if you are under 24 years old.
The exceptions are: You are or have been married, you are a parent, you are a veteran, you already have a bachelor's degree, or you are legally emancipated or in foster care.

Good luck!

I tried getting financial aid like that and it didn't work. here in texas you have to be 25 in order not to put your parents income for school. which sucks by the way.

good luck!

no it depends more on your age, martial status, if you have kids, then it goes based on income, but if your under 24 it will be based off your parents income whether you live at home or not. email me for more info if you want.
