Why is that scholarships award based solely on financial need when there are sooo many government grants available for students who are financially needy. The students who qualify for financial need already get a lot of free money from the government so I dont think they need any private scholarships than students who aren't needy. Scholarships should be given to those middle class students who aren't poor enough to recieve aid and who arent rich enough to pay for college. It is not the student's fault that their parents worked hard in the past to get a well paying job and better opportunities for their children. We shouldn't be punished by being denied scholarships that award based on financial need if we have the same (and maybe better)qualifications than the needy children. Every time a scholarship app asks me "List any special circumstances that indicate financial need" I have nothing to write (and I'm not going to lie or make up some exaggerated story). This is unfair. You?

I have a EFC of 1370,and plan on going to a community college. Does this mean I have to pay for some of the college, and I read somewhere that its good as long as the number is under 3500,also I know it depends on the college inself, but I was just wondering if anyone knows.
Thanks.

I am an African american H.S. senior with a 3.7 GPA and a 27 ACT. I have a full tuition scholarship to Hampton U(a Historically Black University), and I have been accepted to a bunch of big name Universities: Purdue, Illinois, Pittsburgh, Syracuse. If I go to these schools I'll have all of my financial need covered but it'll be mostly loans. I want to major in accounting and I'll go for my CPA and I just need to know is it worth going to the bigger name schools and having major debt for career placement and opportunities? Any input will be appreciated.

I filled out my FAFSA and my EFC is 832, I'm going to a tech school next year that is 12 months long and it costs $14,911.13. Does that mean that the government will pay for everything except $832.00?

Can anyone help me find a government organization, specifically a grant that will help me pay off my student loans and debt.

If you know of a specific organization I would greatly appreciate it. I really need money and fast. I am having trouble finding a job and I am in default on my student loans.

Can anyone find me some money?

If you know of an organization that I can apply for a grant, that would be perfect.
