I am attending Community College in Austin, Texas, and trying to transfer to the University of Texas. I am looking for scholarships that I may qualify for. I have a 4.0 with 30 credit hours in difficult core classes. I have an 570 on the SAT verbal and 580 on the SAT math. I volunteer at a middle school tutoring students with over 30 hours for this school year. I am a gold member, with over 15 hours, in Phi Theta Kappa, so I am very involved. I am also a member of MENSA. I have checked with UT and I am not eligible for any of them. Also, I have checked fast web and college board and have applied for any that looked good, but have not recieved anything back. Does anyone have any other suggestions for how I might go about trying to get scholarships based on academics and extracurriculars to help me with the tuition at UT? Thank you in advance.

I've applied for many private student loans and have been denied with my co-signers that have less than average credit. I can't find anyone with really good credit. Does anyone know of a company that might approve me? I don't even care if the interest rate is sky high I just need a loan!

I am a junior in college and was recently notified that a scholarship of mine, that I have received annual payments from over the last 3 years will be terminated because I did not meet the study abroad requirement. I was not aware of the requirement because it was never specifically stated in the scholarship details.

I've got a joint savings account with my fiance where I've been making consistent deposits. She's listed on the account with me, and she'll be attending grad school in the fall. What impact will the joint account (and it's underlying assets) have on her FAFSA application? She'll be filing the FAFSA as a single, independent, as we'll be married after the FAFSA is due and after her schooling has begun.

As my income is substantially higher than hers, we're trying to qualify for the maximum amount of aid in year 1 to help offset no expected aid in years 2-4. What can we do to receive the most favorable award while still doing things on the up and up?

I dropped a class and have to pay back some grant money. Since I did not lan to return to college I did not give it a big priority in paying it back and it went into collections. Now I would like to return to school. If I repay the money, will I again qualify for grants? I will get a student loan if I can't get a grant.

I realize similar questions to this have been asked but seeing how everyone's situation is different I'm going to ask again. I am doing the "college" thing completely on my own, some financial aid but not much, no worthy cosigners for loans, no one to help me pay, and no parents or any sort of guides on how I should go about getting loans or anything of that sort.
I am a full time student and an english education major, which means I always end up with a full agenda. I do have a job but it's only for about 10 hours a week seeing as a) it's a very small college town and jobs are slim and b) I don't really have much space to work around in my schedule.
My question is whether or not my student loan amount, after 4 1/2 years (estimated) will be around 50-60,000, is too much. I am severly stressed out about having to owe this much but think that because of my situation, it might be ok. I was just wanting any advice anyone had to offer.
Thanks!

I relocated about a year ago and am graduating early this year, however, I want to go back and attend college out of state because that is how all my plans were before I moved. Unfortunately, out of state tuition is steep and I want to find and apply for as many scholarships as possible or I won't be able to afford it. I know about fastwebs.com and scholarships.com. Any input/help would be wonderful. = )

Also, I want to major in education and minor in either buisness or communications of that helps.

Hey, I am a college student and I have one and a half years of great credit history, but no income besides my work study. When I finish college, i'm planning to go right away to flight school, which has been my dream for years, and will require for me to take out a loan of about $50 000. Is there any institution which will give loans solely based on credit and have no income requirements?
Thanks a lot!
