I relocated about a year ago and am graduating early this year, however, I want to go back and attend college out of state because that is how all my plans were before I moved. Unfortunately, out of state tuition is steep and I want to find and apply for as many scholarships as possible or I won't be able to afford it. I know about fastwebs.com and scholarships.com. Any input/help would be wonderful. = )

Also, I want to major in education and minor in either buisness or communications of that helps.

I am attending community college this year around here for my basics, so it's okay if deadlines have passed because I won't need this money until next year = )

Unfortunately, you are starting your search late in the scholarship application season for those graduating in May or June 2007 since it is early April. Many scholarship deadlines have passed already. However, there are programs out there for those who want to become teachers including a loan forgiveness program for those who want to enter into a critical needs area of teaching.

First, the college's financial aid office and website has a list of private scholarships offered from outside organizations and companies. Sometimes a college major's website will list scholarships, too.

Second, the public library has a book listing scholarships with some not even listed on the web.

Third, current high school students can locate local scholarship information at the high school guidance office.

Fourth, search Google.com and Yahoo.com for grants and scholarships for teachers in both states.

Finally, I recommend joining several free membership scholarship search websites, but the best I have located is Scholarship Experts since they have a very thorough and lengthy survey to complete compared to Fastweb. There are scholarships for a variety of things including ethnicity, clubs, hobbies, and even wearing duct tape to the high school prom. Most are updated on a regular basis. Most offer a customized search based on information entered onto a form on the website.

Good luck!

check you local authorities many dont offer up front schoalrships but if you teach their for 5 years some will pay all your college loans. Or you can try entering for scholaships online. This site http://www.win-college-scholarships.com/ gives away a 10000 scholarship every 3 months and is open to anyone.

Hi,
A few things, if you live in most states for at least 6 months the tuition will drop to local levels all people pay. If you plan ahead, move, get a job, save, and drop in when the six months is up you pay residential fees, this is the norm.

Be advised of scholarship scams, a scam will ask for $ up front and make false promises; ask your guidence counselor for direction on bonified scholarships.

good luck
