Your friendly halls have turned into a chaotic, nightmarish environment.

Im writing a paper with this sentence.. does the word nightmarish sound awkward? Should i cut it out completely or change it around? A friend suggested "into a chaotic nightmare." What do you guys think?

I'm on yearbook staff and I can't think of a way to make this flow:

"During their last year at [school name here], the seniors experienced another principal, fresh rules, and new teachers. There were more laughs, tears, and drama than ever before. Friendships were obliterated, and then tentatively rebuilt. Some relationships have ended, while others have just begun."

I need help with that last sentence. During the whole paragraph, I pretty much kept it to past and I'd like to keep it that way. But if I say "Some relationships were ended, while others were begun." it sounds a little off. I think. Maybe not? Hm. *rubs chin* Dunno. =D

Lol. Thanks for your help =)

i was just wondering is their a difference between something identifying a noun and something describing it. for example in these 2 sentences:
1)Aaron, the boy next door, has a room full of comic books.
2)Aaron, born in the UK, has a room full of comic books.
sentence one seems to me to be more identifying the noun where as sentence 2 gives you more information. while both of these are unnescessary to know (non -essential) it seems to me there is a difference. just to me, it seems sentence is more unitive than sentence 2.

I'm doing a fiction analysis of the book Things Not Seen. What would the exposition be? I know it's the 'essential information needed to understand the story' but I don't really understand what exactly that means?

Can anyone tell me what exposition is, in a nutshell? :/

Don't say to get a study partner; we are all too far from each other to make that a reality.

I've heard that the name of your school will get you your first job, but then it will all be based on experience, is this true? I go to cu-boulder which is ranked around 76 by us news world rankings, should I try to transfer to a school that's at least in the top 20?
