A working toaster provides a resistance across the line.
Unplug from the power, & remove the outer case.
Use an ohm-meter to trace the circuit through the toaster.
There should be zero ohms from the plug to the switch.
The elements should show resistance, not an open circuit.
Switch contacts should be zero ohms when closed.
The thermostat should make contact & operate the latch.
Check the latch solenoid for continuity.

Ohm's law isn't going to help you. Take the toaster back to the shop and try to get an exchange or a refund under the warranty.

I=E/R.....got voltage, no current, open resistance...

I RESIST answering that type of question because many people do not have the CAPACITY to understand the INDUCTIVE reasoning behind it.

You have to have a OPEN mind to solve this kind of problem!

Not a SHORT CIRCUIT between the ears...
