I recently graduated from UT Austin with a degree in biochemistry with hopes of going to dental school. My first attempt didn't work out but I have recently been admitted to a post-bac program that has a proven track record (80% success rate) of getting students like myself into dental and medical schools. So it would take 2 yrs of that plus 4 yrs of dental school. However I currently have a great job doing finance, and also got accepted to an evening MBA program in Dallas (I applied to both schools at the same time). I'm completely torn between the two options but have to make a decision soon. Obviously a career in dentistry would be a much better decision financially, but a much harder road to complete. I just think moving away from friends and family for 6 years while accumulating debt would be tough, but the pay-off would be huge (my dentist wants me to take over his practice). Anyone out there that was in a similar position as mine, or anyone have any advice to offer? Thanks!

This is the sentence I want revised. My friend was disappointed that his cousin told him that he got married after the fact. Here is the sentence I want revised, dont think it sounds right with word "about" twice

I could understand how you feel about hearing about your cousin's wedding.
Please revise that sentence so it sounds better, any writers or someone with good writing skills, thanks

I did a decent project in high school: "The Effect of Gamma Radiation on the Electrical Resistivity of Tungsten." I'm fairly proud of it, but should I even mention it on graduate school applications?

More and more, people use YOUR for the contraction YOU'RE (you are). They put an apostrophe on plurals (All those dog's are barking). They improperly say "I told you NOT to do that" (means 'I told you not', which means 'I didn't tell you') instead of "I told you TO not do that" (specifically said it). Oh, heck; I could go on forever on this one...
Are people getting stupid, or what's the problem? Poor schooling???

I think it is just rude when people say that homeschoolers have never been out in the real world. Like what is the "real world"? I am not living in some "fake world". Just walking down the street anything can happen, not just at school. Give me your opinion. Thank-you!

Make something up. That is what you are going to do anyway. Not one of you has asked yourself this question so your opinion is instantaneous without forethought.

My daughter wrote "There were once three brothers, called....." and this was corrected by her teacher to "there was once three brothers...."
I think this is wrong, and that the original sentence was correct, but don't know why. I am assuming that it is "were " as the brothers are plural. The teacher says if "once" is in a sentence it always becomes "was". I don't mind if I am right or wrong, but want to tell my daughter WHY, one way or another....
Any idea's???

Can you ever say "musics"? I know that generally speaking abstract nouns are singular, but there are some exceptions (for example foods or truths). Is music an exception?
