There is a debate in my homeschool co-op over which is better. I am a fan of phonics but to some other homeschoolers, phonics is a DIRTY WORD!
I can see how a whole language approach can be useful, but only combined with standard phonics that's been a proven method for at least two centuries.
What's your take?

I was just thinking about it as I looked at the fire alarm strobe here in the hotel. If they were bron deaf and could never hear anything from birth how do they know what someone is signing to them and how to put the letters together to make words? How do they know, when they are first learning, what someone is signing to them?

I am new to US colleges,and I am planning to go into nursing career.There is a waiting list to get the admission in the college,I have some doubts regarding the pre reqs.
For instance ,I need to take A,B,C courses for nursing.Since there is a waiting list for my admission can I take these courses now, and still the credits are covered in my nursing.
And do I need to take these if the credits are not covered.
I really need some advice..please...

In everyday life, we learn that credit means an increase and debit is a deduction. How come accounting reverses them? I understand they are reversed in accounting but it is too confusing with what I already know. Can anybody simplify why accounting reverses them, so I can remember this more easily?
