9th or 10th, depending on when your birthday is.

9th grade usually if you were born in November.

Usually the end of October is the cutoff for starting the school year with kids of the same age as you are. So instead of starting 1st grade when you were six, you'd start it when you were seven. It would then go like this:

8 years old = 2nd grade
9 years old = 3rd grade
10 years old = 4th grade
11 years old = 5th grade
12 years old = 6th grade
13 years old = 7th grade
14 years old = 8th grade
15 years old = 9th grade

As I said, though, this is usually the way it goes. Some schools will allow a child born in November to attend in the same year as the other kids, so it isn't always the case.

BTW you only mentioned a scenario of not failing, but not one of advancing a grade or two.

Most kids start kindergarten when they are five, so:
1st grade = 5 +1 = 6 yrs old
2nd = 5 + 2 = 7 yrs old
3rd = 5 + 3 = 8 yrs old
.
.
.
10th = 5 + 10 = 15 yrs old

So MOST kids start 10th grade when they are 15 and have a birthday (turning 16) sometime that year. However, it depends on what state they were in when they started school and when the cut-off was for enrolling in school at that time in that place. So there are 15 yr olds in 9th or 11th grade who also did not fail.

I hope this helps!

It depends on what time of the year in which you were born. If you were born early in the year (before about June), then you might be one of the younger people in your class. This would put you in the Spring of your freshman year of high school (grade 9) when you turn 15.

If you were born in the later half of the year (June through December), you are most likely one of the older students in your class. This would mean you turn 15 during the Fall of your sophomore year or high school (grade 10).

These can very a little, based on the local school admittance policies. For example, some school districts require that a kindergartner must be 5 years-old when they start the school year in August. Other districts say the student must turn at least 5 years-old sometime during the school year.

add 6 to the grade and thats how old you should be ENDING the school year. Or you can subtract 6 from the age and thats what grade you should be in...

sometimes there are other cases where someone gets left back or somone falls right on the cutoff line to be up or down one grade, but that rule works for 95% of students

Because you turned 15 in November, you would be in 10th grade.

So your would be a Sophomore!

(If you turned 15 over the summer you would mostly likely be going into 9th grade this next school year.)

You can be in eighth or ninth, because I have some friends with me in my eighth grade class who are 15 (they didn't fail, they took an extra class between K and grade 1)
