Yes. Respectable, but not well-paid. Worthy of respect, now that's a different story, with all these child-friendly policies, where discipline in classes gets more & more difficult, where parents back up their kids against teachers' efforts to maintain control. Hope this helps.

of course its a good respectable job. Teachers do not earn enough in this country, hence that lack of decent teachers!
