I love that little polar bear!

Does his name rhyme with 'cute' as in the slogan "Cute Knut"? Is is like 'nut'? Do you pronounce the K or the N? Please help!

I'm in Berlin right now (where Knut is too!), and everyone here says "k'noot." They pronounce the "K" AND the "N."

knut?

It seems to be a Russian name.

The Correct Pronunciation of the word, Knut' is

'Can- ute'

'k' silent.

So, we've to pronounce the 'N' & not the 'K'. O.K.
Yeah, the word End-Rhymes with the word, 'Cute', 'Mute'

You definetely pronounce K.

So, you pronounce both K and N, as you would in Evil Knievel

Then, oot.(rhymes with put)- keep it short, unlike loot.

K-N-oot.

Hope this helps.

It should be pronounced NUT, because the K is silent. If it was like NEWT, then it should be spelled different.

It can either be "kuh-noot" as in the Scandanavian hero Canute or "noot" as in Knute Rockne. Either is correct, depending on context and/or application.

The 'k' is silent so you pronounce it as 'nut', if not you would find yourself saying 'K-nut' or 'Kanut'.
