The internet didn't DO anything to you; you CHOOSE to waste time on the net rather than read!!!
I completely understand, however. The internet is full of lots of neat stuff. But really, reading fiction and playing on the net are no different; in fact, you have the potential to learn much more from the internet than a novel.
Just make sure that some of your time on the internet is productive and you are engaged in learning something and don't feel guilty about it!!

If u r a good reader, then,i suggest that u keep snacks near u and just lie down on the bed and take a very interesting and a large book(perhaps,a horror novel). After u start reading u feel that u cannot getup and go to the net.For one thing,u will find urself lazy and too curious to know what is going to happen next in the book. This will keep u away from the net for some days and then u just have to read other books written by the author.

Turn off the computer, go to the library, find a few books you think you'd like. Read them. It could be helpful to break the habit by reading where you can't use a computer -- on the beach, in the tub, etc. Reading can be very addictive if you find the right books.

Turn off the computer. Prop a book up in front of the screen. Keep books by ur bed, by ur chair, in the bathroom. Use willpower. Hope this helps.

You can shut the computer off if you want to. I too, was intrigued at first, but soon found most of the sights are either trying to sell you something or pornographic. It was easy to flip the switch. Now my time spent here is limited to no more than two hours a day, if that.

What you have to do is time yourself, say you will spend 2 hours on the computer 4 hours reading etc, just make yourself a timetable and that will work.

Not sure what the question is, but you can read classic books in their entirety for free at http://www.gutenberg.org.
Good luck! :)
